  • From DEN aiport by car:
    It takes around 45 minutes to one hour, depending on traffic, to drive between Colorado School of Mines and DIA. From DIA, take Peña Boulevard (10 miles) south to I-70 west. Follow I-70 west (18 miles) and take exit 265 for CO-58 west. Follow CO-58 west to Washington Avenue (4 miles). Turn left on Washington Avenue from the exit off CO-58. Turn right on 19th Street at the stop sign and continue to Illinois Street. Turn right at the traffic light, and take an immediate right into the Visitor Lot.

  • From DEN aiport by bus or light rail:
    Golden is served by the Regional Transportation District (RTD) - visit their very user-friendly website for rail and bus schedules.

    Golden can be easily reached by the A Line to Union Station (37 min), then the W line to Jefferson County Government Center - Golden Station (40 min). The Ore Cart Free Transit Service operates four different routes from the Jefferson County Government Center around Golden. Click here to view the Ore Cart Route Map.

    For Colorado School of Mines/downtown Golden: take A Line (to Union Station), then the W line (to Oak Station), the local bus line downtown is Route 17. Approximate travel time: 2 hrs.

  • By car:
    There are five major highways (I-70, Hwy 6, Hwy 58, Hwy 93 and C-470) that lead to Golden. Golden is conveniently located 20 minutes from downtown Denver. 

Parking

The Colorado School of Mines is a pay-to-park campus from 7 am until 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
